All classes are currently learning about Beat at various levels!

What is Beat?

Beat is the unit of measurement musicians use.

Similar to inches on an ruler, each beat is the same distance apart.

Support at home

When a song is playing, encourage your student to identify the beat.

Ask them to explain what a beat is and its significance.

For children in 3rd to 5th grade, inquire about the difference between beat and rhythm.

Question for thought . . . What types of measurements are there? What type of measurement do cooks use? How about a doctor? Or, what about a gardener?
